Director of Turkish Aviation Academy Assoc. Prof. Kemal YÜKSEK, who made the opening speech of Teacher’s Day and hosted the ceremony at the same time, said that catching a sustainable growth of our company would be possible with well-educated staff. YÜKSEK said that Academy’s instructors captured the change brought by this era and continue to make their valuable contributions with new forms, and he made the following statements: "At this moment the instructor is no longer just the bearer of knowledge, but he/she has an identity role of preparing and marketing it; because the access to knowledge has become quite easy in today's world. Therefore, they should transfer knowledge, being endowed with the learning habits of the era. Because of that, instructors should be experts in their fields and competent on technology use in education."

After the speech of Academy Director Assoc. Prof. Kemal YÜKSEK, Turkish Airlines Vice Chairman of the Board and General Manager, Assoc. Prof. Temel Kotil, who began his speech with Teachers’ Day greetings and wishes, remarked; “Without teachers, probably none of us would be here since books are not sufficient to teach. You should make the students’ minds and feelings ready to learn. In this way, it will be possible to give a good education. Then you ask students that “Could I explain it?”, actually you don’t say “Do you understand it?” That’s because if you don’t open the doors, student doesn’t understand. In this regard, education is an art.”

After the speech of Assoc. Prof. Temel Kotil, Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee M. İlker AYCI took the microphone and said that November 24th Teachers’ Day is a meaningful day for our educators, education areas and our country. He mentioned that we needed to know the value of our teachers, making the following statements: “I suppose one of the companies that value teachers greatly in this respect is Turkish Airlines. In this sense, we hold teachers in high esteem. Education is very important for us. Educational trends in today's world keep changing and differing. As long as you don’t improve yourself and don’t convey the innovations to young and inexperienced people that you teach, and unless you stop repeating old things, you should know that you will also lose your customers. And students won’t listen to you much. They would pretend to listen but come up empty handed. You are responsible to renew yourselves.”

After the speech of M. İlker Aycı, Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee, the program ended with the presents given to our trainers, and a group photo-shoot.
