OUR TECHNICAL TRAINING MANAGER GAVE A PRESENTATION AT THE AP&M EXPO5/6/2014

Our Technical Training Manager, Murat Köse, gave a presentation on the subject of “Recruiting, Training and Retaining of Licensed Technical Staff Required in the Aircraft Maintenance Sector” at the AP&M Expo, which took place in London on the 6th-8th of May 2014.

In the presentation, which began with an introduction of Turkish Aviation Academy, statistical information was given regarding the number of human errors in aviation maintenance and their resulting costs. It was stressed that the way to preserve a qualified workforce lies in keeping up with new developments in the industry whilst preserving existing strengths, utilizing current technologies in training environments and applying training tools and methods according to changes in people’s learning habits. It was explained that it is possible for an aircraft to safely continue its operations through aircraft maintenance staff’s qualified conduct and appropriate attitude. Using examples, the vital importance of various key concepts were covered, such as gaining knowledge, awareness and practical ability, and how this is only possible through scenario-based training. The presentation concluded with an explanation that within this scenario-based training, the traits that underlie the maintenance of quality as a discipline, such as a work routine, culture of safety and a correct understanding and usage of documents, can be learned by technical staff who have either not undergone the standard basic training or not completed it successfully.
