ITU has successfully completed this program which is carried out with the scientific infrastructure, international network, the cooperation with global universities and the contributions of eighteen academicians. I am sure that the graduates will contribute to the value of Turkish aviation with their newly acquired knowledge and skills. I congratulate all parties which contributed to this success, and I also congratulate especially twenty-five (25) Istanbul Technical University graduates for their commitment to the program. At the end of my speech, I pray Allah to show mercy to the souls of Democracy Martyrs of July 15th; and I hope the veteran soldiers will get well soon.”

IŞIL: “TURKISH AIRLINES–A GLOBAL BRAND–SAFELY FLIES BOEING AIRCRAFTS

Boeing Turkey General Manager and Country Executive Ayşem Sargın Işıl said “I am very glad to be here with you today. I especially want to emphasize that it is a great honour to have partners like Turkish Airlines and Istanbul Technical University. In every new generation aircraft of Boeing, there is a piece from Turkey. Further to that, a global brand like Turkish Airlines flies Boeing aircrafts safely and carries out their maintenance. Our aircrafts are entrusted to Turkish Airlines. We are also here to celebrate the graduation of our 25 students. We have reached 64 graduates so far, which makes us feel proud. This contributes not only to the development of Turkish airline industry but also to the growth of Turkey’s economy. I congratulate you all on behalf of Boeing. I wish you all good luck and all the best.”

YÜKSEK: “YOU WILL PRODUCE SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY”

Director of Turkish Aviation Academy Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kemal Yüksek said in his speech, “The uniqueness of this program is its most important feature. Its uniqueness also makes it the one and only in terms of the quality of its instructors, place, environment, and the university facilities. I consider ourselves lucky to have visionary directors to develop a program like this. In addition, the main purpose of this program is to ensure that Turkish Airlines, which has been growing with a tremendous boost in the last 10 years, continues to be permanent, sustainable and institutional. Our friends, who have graduated from here, are obliged to fulfil expectations and I hope they will act accordingly. Their responsibility is not only to keep up with the developments in the aviation sector worldwide, but also to set an example to be followed by others. You will produce science and technology. You will not imitate, and copy. You will observe, learn but also produce.”

GÜRDİL: THANKS TO THOSE MAKING AN EFFORT FOR US

Tahir Gürdil, who has finished the program as the highest ranking student has made a speech on behalf of Ahmet Gayretli, the other highest ranking student of the program and himself: I would like to thank Turkish Airlines Aviation Academy for the opportunity of administrative permissions, the installation opportunity and the reduced expenses which were perhaps one- twentieth of the tuition costs of a university abroad with high qualifications (including the costs related to living abroad etc.). I would also like to extend our thanks to the program partner ITÜ, MIT, University of British Columbia, Cranfield University for the classes, documents, patience and energy of the instructors who participated in our courses, and the opportunity of reaching the latest information in world standards both in the courses and online. And finally I’d like to thank our managers, our corporation, Boeing, our teachers, our course assistants for providing all kinds of opportunities that I forgot to mention here.”

During the academic program, students are offered a variety of courses with updated content, addressing almost every area of aviation such as fundamentals of airline management, aviation economics, finance, aviation law, marketing and compliance with legislation while enjoying the opportunity to choose subjects such as air transport agreements and airport planning and management in modules.
