"Air Transport Management Master Program" which was launched two years ago by Turkish Airlines in cooperation with Istanbul Technical University and Boeing, produced its first graduates with the graduation ceremony held in Maslak campus of ITU, on 18 August 2015. 39 people consisting of executives and executive candidates graduated from the Program which is seen among the best master's programs in the air transport sector.

As well as Ahmet Bolat, Chief Investment and Technology Officer of Turkish Airlines, Abdulkerim Çay, Chief Human Resources Officer, Kemal Yüksek, Director of Aviation Academy, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Karaca, the Rector of ITU, and Todd NELP, Vice President Commercial Aviation Services Europe at Boeing were among the prominent names who attended the ceremony.

Ahmet Bolat, Chief Investment and Technology Officer of Turkish Airlines, who gave a speech at the ceremony stated; "As an airline which is flying to more countries than any other airline in the world, and as well as building intercontinental bridges by performing more international flights, contributing to the development of cultural commercial and economic relations, we are very proud to support international integration to be taken further. Today, Istanbul is making a remarkable progress to become a global air transportation hub. Turkish Airlines is a global brand like its program partners Boeing and ITU. We are the rising star of the aviation industry. I believe that this program, which enhances the efficiency of management skills of our executives and executive candidates, who successfully completed the program, will bring new achievements to us, and make an important contribution to the professional skills of future aviation leaders of Turkey."

Todd Nelp, Vice President Commercial Aviation Services Europe at Boeing, expressed his thoughts as “We are very proud to see the first graduates of Air Transport Management Master Program and we wish all graduates a successful career at airline companies. As Turkish aviation industry keeps growing, this kind of programs we conduct in cooperation with Turkish Airlines and Istanbul Technical University are important investments on both future achievements and future executives of the sector.  We, as Boeing, are proud of playing a role in this investment on Turkey’s future.” Prof. Dr. Mehmet Karaca, Rector of Istanbul Technical University, stated about the issue; “ITU Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics is the oldest and the biggest academic institution concerned with aeronautics and astronautics in Turkey. Two years ago, ITU, Turkish Airlines and Boeing leagued together for a very important program for Turkish Aviation. Within the frame of Academic Program, for two years, the students were equipped with the skills which are necessary for executing the country’s fast-improving air transportation.

The program, which was launched in 2013, has been designed with the aim of training leader executives for the aviation world, equipping current managers, making them professional leaders who will shape the future of the aviation sector. This master’s program is the only one of its kind in the world in terms of instructors, course content, and the way it is conducted. The lectures of the program are given by the most famous instructors of the world’s leading institutions and universities such as Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Istanbul Technical University, Cranfield University and British Columbia University as well as the airplane manufacturer company Boeing which is among the biggest supporters of the program. The students completing the program become specialized thanks to the up-to-date courses that they take related to the aviation sector such as law, finance, economics, marketing, management, planning and many others by the experienced instructors in their fields.
