Introduction

Turkish Airlines, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as “Turkish Airlines”, “Company”, or “We”) takes extreme care in processing personal data of its customers in accordance with the applicable legislation. This Turkish Airlines Aviation Academy Training Services Privacy Notice on Data Protection (hereinafter referred to as “Privacy Notice”) has been set out primarily in accordance with Section 10 of Law No. 6698 on Personal Data Protection (hereinafter referred to as “Law”) and the General Data Protection Regulation of the European Union (hereinafter referred to as “GDPR”) for the purpose of explicit processing of personal data of our esteemed customers who will make use of the services included in the training services provided by Turkish Airlines.

In this respect, the Privacy Notice gives information regarding third parties with whom your personal data is shared, your rights, and the channels to get in contact with, including but not limited to the types of personal data processed by Turkish Airlines in capacity of the data controller, and the purposes of processing such data.

How Do We Collect Your Personal Data?

Personal data is collected through our website, printed documents and/or our electronic systems prior to any use of the services provided for you under the training services offered by Turkish Airlines. As per the Law, personal data can only be processed if at least one of the requirements as set out in the Law are met. We, at Turkish Airlines, process the data in accordance with the requirements of national and international regulations including but not limited to the basic principles as specified in Section 4 of the Law, and based on the requirements for processing personal data as given under Section 5 and 6 of the Law under any circumstances whatsoever regardless of the purpose of processing personal data.

ID and Contact Info: Personal details including name/trade name, Turkish ID number/taxpayer ID No/tax office, etc. as well as personal data including e-mail address, telephone number, mobile number, address, etc. as indicated on the form requested to be filled-in while purchasing the service,
Further Details: Personal data including place of birth, date of birth, age, occupation, billing address, employer name, marital status, educational background, graduation, etc.,
Considerations and requests: Considerations received from you regarding the services provided for you,
Payment details: Details including credit/debit card details, bank account details, IBAN details, and other financial details,
Health Info: Details including any diseases, regularly taken medication, physical disabilities, if any, in order to determine whether the service is suitable for you, if you have already requested or consented,

Why Do We Process Your Personal Data?

Providing Service: Data is processed in order to determine whether those who have applied for the use of training services are eligible to participate in the program(s).
Contact: Data is processed to get in contact with our customers through text messages, e-mails, or telephone in order to submit their enrollment details, to share confirmation regarding the purchase of service, and to send payment and training details.
Evaluation of Requests and Suggestions: Data is processed in order to receive and evaluate customer opinions, complaints, and considerations regarding our services through printed/online forms and surveys.
Legal Obligations: Data is processed in order to ensure compliance with the national and international regulations which Turkish Airlines is subject to, and to perform their obligations under the relevant legislation.

Where and Why Do We Transfer Your Personal Data?

Personal data that we process may be transferred to either domestic or international third parties in some cases in accordance with the requirements of national and international regulations including but not limited to Section 8 and 9 of the Law.

Third parties to whom your personal data may be transferred are categorized as follows:

Contracted Service Partners: private companies or state owned institutions who provides subject matter experts such us e.g. contracted psychologist or technicians for our training services.

Government Agencies and Organizations: Directorate General of Civil Aviation, General Directorate of State Airports Authority, Istanbul Governor’s Office.

Agencies or Organizations which are accredited by State authorities to ensure permits: Organisations and institutions which administrate or operates airports such as İGA (İstanbul Grand Airport)

Which Rights Are You Granted as Personal Data Subject?

You are granted many rights regarding your personal data in capacity of personal data subject in accordance with Section 11 of the Law. We would like to give information about the rights granted to you, and the methods of exercising these rights in this section.

The rights granted to you under Section 11 of the Law are given below:


	You may find out whether your personal data is processed by us,
	If your personal data has been processed by us, you may request to get the relevant details,
	You may learn about the purposes for which we process your personal data, and whether your personal data is used in accordance with these purposes,
	You may learn about the national or international third parties to whom we transfer your personal data,
	If we have processed your personal data incompletely or inaccurately, you may request that these errors be corrected, and you may also request for such corrections to be communicated to the third parties to whom we have already transferred your personal data,
	Although we have processed your personal data as per the Law, and the requirements of other relevant national and international regulations, you may request your personal data to be erased or destroyed, if the reasons requiring your personal data to be processed are no longer valid, and you may also request these corrections made to be communicated to third parties accordingly to whom we have already transferred your personal data.
	If the data we process causes any result to your detriment upon having been analyzed exclusively by automated systems, you may object to this result,
	If you incur any damages because your personal data is processed in violation of the Law, you may put in a claim for compensation for the damage incurred from such data processing in breach of applicable legislation.
